We are just days away from Christmas!! Eeeek! Who else is getting really excited! I know I am. Today I am sharing a closer look at my rustic Christmas mantel.
This mantel is one of my favorite antique finds ever. What makes it even more special is that this is the first year I have had it for Christmas. Decorating our mantel for the different seasons has been one of my favorite things to do. Today I want to share how to put this rustic Christmas look together.

It all started with these white houses from the Target dollar spot. I missed out on them last year and I was determined to buy as many as I could find this year.My favorite part is that they are white, and placing them all together creates a neutral Christmas village. These beautiful white sparkly bottle brush trees are also from the Target dollar spot.
Another element that I believe is a must for a Christmas mantel is a garland. Walmart had this beautiful long-leaf pine garland and I got it for a steal on Black Friday. I love that the pine cones add extra texture.I also added a strand of the bead garland to add an extra layer of texture. Another item I missed out on last year that I was so excited to find this year. Layering different elements is the best way to add interest and extra texture to your mantel.
I have to admit I wasn’t sure what I was going to put above the mantel. I was on the hunt for an architectural piece but I hadn’t come across anything that would work. When I was going through storage I found this old coffee bean sack that I had got years ago from an antique dealer. He bundled it with one of my finds as a free gift. I had never found a use for it so it sat in storage for years. When I pulled it out a light bulb went off and I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a wreath.
For the wreath, I collected tree clippings from the tree farm we got our Christmas tree from. I used a grapevine wreath as a base and tucked the clippings in until it had the look I was going for. Then I added a neutral ribbon at the top. This was so easy and basically free.
Every mantel needs a cozy element so I added these nubby- cuffed stockings from HomeGoods. You can find similar ones here. Last but not least I added the antique sleigh to fill in some of the blank space and add visual balance. I also just love how perfect it is for Christmas!
And there you have it! An easy rustic Christmas mantel. I hope you and your family have a very blessed Christmas. Thanks for checking out the blog today! ❤
